Food and the Wisconsin Idea: January Book Launch

Date: January 18, 2018, 3:30-5:30pm

Location: University Club, UW-Madison

Posted January 2018

Please join us for the first in Food and the Wisconsin Idea’s 2018 event series: a book launch for Good Food, Strong Communities.

Good Food, Strong Communities shares ideas and stories about efforts to improve food security in large urban areas of the United States by strengthening community food systems. It draws on five years of collaboration between a research team comprised of the University of Wisconsin, Growing Power, and the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute, and more than thirty organizations on the front lines in Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Los Angeles, Madison, and Cedar Rapids. Activists and scholars talk about what’s working and what still needs to be done to ensure that everyone has access to readily available, affordable, appropriate, and acceptable food.

Please see our flier for more information. As usual, the program will last one hour with social time to follow.

If you would like to join in person at the University Club, please RSVP here.

We’re changing things up a bit this season by opening our event series up to the rest of the state! Attendees have the option of joining us in person, or via Zoom video conference. If you will be joining remotely, please register here, where you will receive a link to install Zoom (a very safe software to download).
