The Agroecological Imagination

Posted July 2015

On June 14, CIAS welcomed 49 guests to exchange ideas and develop collaborative efforts at a unique conference: The Agroecological Imagination: a Franco-American Exchange. Participants included researchers, farmers and students from the U.S., France and Belgium. This conference began with a field trip to some of the most interesting sustainable and organic farms in Wisconsin. For the next three days, participants discussed agroecology research, education and theory, initiated joint projects, and learned from the experiences of colleagues working in diverse places and cultures. The conference ended on June 17th with participants agreeing to work on the creation of an international professional society for agroecologists.
