    The Know Your Buyer, Know Your Supplier (KYBKYS) Procurement Training Series consists of five farm to school and farm to early care trainings across Wisconsin. Funded through a USDA Farm to School Training Grant and coordinated by the Wisconsin Farm to School Steering Committee, the goal of these trainings is: 1) to provide in-depth local food procurement training to Wisconsin’s food service professionals; and 2) better connect Wisconsin’s farmers, processors, distributors and supply chain partners with institutional buyers like schools, early childhood sites, hospitals, and universities.

    Five different day-long trainings will be hosted by local partners throughout the state. Each training will include targeted information to answer your questions about finding, buying, menuing and serving Wisconsin-grown foods at your site. A “Local Expert Panel” will share on-the-ground success stories to help you reach your goals. All food service staff are encouraged to attend, and there will be breakout sessions for K-12 and ECE environments. Consider attending as a team from your center, school, district, or county.

    Please see the list of training dates and locations below. Each full-day training runs from 9am until 4pm. Registration opens at 8:45 am. All trainings include lunch and snacks.     The Know Your Buyer, Know Your Supplier Procurement Training Series is organized at the state level by the Wisconsin Farm to School Steering Committee: Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection, Community GroundWorks, UW-Madison Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems, and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
