Our sister center at the University of Minnesota is about to transform. The Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture (MISA) closed under UMN and is moving to the Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships at Extension. MISA 2.0 is currently a work in progress with many dedicated partners around the table committed to creating a new chapter continuing MISA’s valuable, collaborative outreach and engagement. With MISA’s transition, Executive Director Helene Murray stepped into retirement and Associate Director Jane Jewett moved to an agriculture and natural resources position with Extension. Helene’s far-reaching sustainable agriculture and food systems network and legacy has been important to CIAS in work throughout the Upper Midwest. Her hospitality every year at the annual Agriculture of the Middle meeting at University of Minnesota was a highlight of the gathering. We extend big thanks to Helene and wish her all good things in retirement.
