Cover crop survey now open
Don't hesitate: the survey closes November 15
It is time to participate in the 2022 Citizen Science cover crop project!
Farmer participation across the state is key to understanding the benefits of using cover crops in different growing conditions. Data provided by citizen science farmers about their cover cropping practices is helping farmers learn from one another and improves cover crop recommendations for Wisconsin.
Collaborating farmers respond to an online survey about their practices, take photos of cover crop growth, and allow us to collect biomass samples at the end of the growing season. Farmers may receive an honorarium for participating in the full program. We share data with our participants, as well as our research findings, and also incorporate feedback in research and outreach programming, including the Wisconsin Cover Crop Conference.
