European and Canadian Perspectives on the global dairy economy: Supply Management and Farm Scale

Join us in welcoming André Pflimlin, French Academy of Agriculture, Jean Yves Penn, organic dairy farmer in Brittany-France, and Guy Debailleul, agro-economist, Laval University / Quebec CAN. The group is on a study tour of Wisconsin dairies and will share their perspectives on the global dairy economy, with particular emphasis on French and Canadian experiences with supply management. Their topics will include:
- Trends on dairy farming in Europe, since the end of supply management in 2015
- Low cost milk production with spring calving, a 30 year experience as a dairy farmer
- Is there a future for supply management in the Canadian dairy production? Guy Debailleul will be presenting virtually.
